Hello fellow pilots of the Cheyenne,
First of all I would like to say that I totally love the Cheyenne, it's a great plane to fly! And it's looks amazing!
I own this plane for just about a week now and learning more and more every day. And for the past few days I'm trying to use autopilot to follow the glidescope. But without succes so far.
I'm trying the following:
-Takeoff from Leeuwarden Airbase (EHLW)
- Landing at Eelde (EHGG):
* runway 05
* ILS: 109,90
After takeoff I set Nav1 to 109,90. The HSI course to 050 and the HDG SEL (on the HSI) to 140 degrees. I activate HDG mode and switch on the autopilot. It's starts tracking nicely to 140 acceleration.
I also set the altitude to 4000 ft.
And I have pressed the APPR button and seeing APPR ARM in the panel.
After a while the ILS course is intercepted (APPR/CPLD) but instead of going to 050 it's going to 230 degrees. So away from the airfield instead of to the airfield!
This is bugging me for the past few days, I've tried to use 230 on the HSI course, but no difference...
Also tried using NAV instead of APPR, but the same result. Tried to to switch on APPR only when the ILS indicator is in the middle, same result.
What am I doing wrong here? (it must be something small, I hope)
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance,
Auke (Falcko)
ps) I'm using FSX with acceleration pack
